		<description>I agree with your thesis: portfolio is one step towards financial freedom. Most people plan on retiring on portfolio income, but I don&#039;t think most people think about it in terms of an income source in the present.

Taxes are another very important consideration for portfolio income. For example, unrealized capital gains = no tax versus realized capital gains and dividends are taxed for most. For some people capital gains are taxed at a rate lower than their income is taxed.  Knowing such distinctions can also help some make gains towards financial independence.</description>

		<description>I look at it in terms of revenue stream because I think I will be reluctant to touch my principal.   However, I am so far away from that.  

I think I may consider buying rental properties in the future,not sure.  I am not a fan of annuities, but I am a fan of passive income.  Not sure which road to take at this point.</description>
